2nd Battalion hosted a FTX at Cliffs of the Neuse State Park on September 28, 2019 which lasted from 1030 hours until 1630 hours.
During this time command staff was trained on the finer points of website administration and battalion administration, while other hip-pocket classes were hosted which led to Drill and Ceremony, formations, and marching.
This all coalesced into prepared defensive formations and camps and how to set up a battalion camp with proper security and forward operating camps with their own security and patrols.
Within this FTX other FTX’s have also been planned and placed on the calendar and we are now well-underway with a State-Wide FTX that we are super excited to announce will occur within approximately 1 year.
The reason for such a lengthy forewarning is for quite a few reasons. First, we want each battalion to be able to host their own over-night FTX and learn the basics of moving under fire, formation, and squad movement. Once the state FTX starts, each battalion will be expected to already know this. Everyone will create their own battalion campsites, defend their designated areas, and we will provide more instruction (which is being withheld for now) on the 2nd day. During this FTX only official communications devices will be allowed. We will advise each and every person to leave their cell phones or other communications devices with the state’s S4 logistics officer for safekeeping. Every squad leader, platoon leader, company and battalion co/xo will be issued a secured radio to be used on the FTX. Anyone choosing to keep their phones who are caught using them will be asked to leave the FTX.
This FTX will first and foremost tell our Brigade Staff who is capable of following orders. The second mission of the FTX will be to determine the testicular fortitude of each, individual member.
This FTX will span approximately 1 week, (5-6 days during a holiday week).
